So you are saying if oil pressure goes up the ticking sound goes away?

Can a crush washer leak cause fuel to appear at base of injector on top of engine?

I'm only talking at idle, when oil pressure is the same as long as there is enough oil in the sump for the oil pump, so for me, if I'm in between min an max half way on dipstick, I have some slight ticking, if I add more oil to the max, the ticking is almost gone. I am not sure exactly why it does that, since it doesn't make sense. If I max the oil on dipstick then it will drip it all over through the provent return hose, till it stabilizes at 1/2 dipstick level. I'm not concerned about the slight ticking bc oil analysis are good, so there is no excessive wear.

When I rev the engine, I don't notice any ticking sound difference between max level and 1/2 level.

I also noticed that engine is a bit quieter with 5w40, be it Rotella t6 or mobil tdt, versus having the Mobil 0W-40. This makes a bit of sense since the diesel oil is a bit thicker even at warm than the 0W-40.

I know somebody said they are using 15w-40 oil . Would this be doable in socal?

Gde said its fine to use dyno diesel oil in crd. Just make sure you change it sooner than a synthetic oil. I one wouldn't use dyno, since synthetic oil prices are quite decent. But there are folks, especially those with farms that buy dyno oil in bulk, for which dyno oil is a better choice.
