Well, for what it's worth, I found the limit of the OLD IDParts silicone hoses when reinforced with the woven braided stuff.

A ~4 minute extended pull at ~36 psi, and the hose out of the turbo let loose in spectacular fashion, braided reinforcement and all.
Actually, I think when the exterior reinforcement went, the hose went something like bubble gum.
I'm actually a little surprised the intercooler didn't go first. Maybe my corner reinforcement helped a little.
I really wish I'd had it on a dyno, but there's no way it would maintain that to 4000 rpm, and if I tried I'm pretty sure I'd be doing the turbo again. This was all 2000-2200ish rpm.

Looks like I'm buying a different set, or perhaps trying Flash's idea.

36psi of boost?
How are you getting 36psi from the turbo and not setting a overboost code?

Yes, mine will OB code and go into limp mode a little over 26 psi under sustained load.
Your turbo must be screaming? Don't think they are designed for those speeds? :grim:

Got it due to the Diablo puck and a check valve with a tiny leak. The ECM thinks it's a lot lower than it really is, and the turbo is unable to respond quickly to any ECM signal that it is too high (which apparently didn't happen as no OB code). The gauge is mechanical and tested for accuracy against compressor air pressure gauges.

Your turbo must be screaming? Probably a bit, but at this low RPM, the CFM is still in easy range. Don't think they are designed for those speeds? Definitely not, nor this pressure. :grim:

Check valve where???
I thought the MAP was measuring the actual boost pressure and sending the signal to the ECM?
I have the Diablo puck as well on top of a Stage IV Yeti tune. I keep the reastotat about 25% and all is well, crank it up to about 50% and boost pressures can get real serious real quick. Then the ECM will throw it into limp mode as the MAP sensor runs out of range and cannot read the higher boost levels...

I know the turbo is capable of making ~30 psig boost as I have seen it make it on my mechanical gauge. Just not sure how safe it is to continually spin the turbine up to those extreme speeds and boost levels.... :juggle:

I can make 40+ psig boost on my Dodge Cummins and it makes a hell of a difference cranked up, especially on EGT's....but that is another whole animal and the turbo is fully capable of handling it!

Occasionally, on the other hand, ... is... well... lets say easily possible, although still nether safe nor sane. 36psi was, well, surprising.
The hose failure was pretty easy to patch up, thanks to "Ideas By Flash(tm)"

All are running 2 stage systems though. Of course, neither "safe" nor "sane" apply to them either.
