So in my haste, I read through the description of this Litens' OAD Pulley, saw "Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep" and ordered it: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/litens-overrunning-alternator-decoupling-oad-pulley-original-equipment-quality-920810a/10150690-P?cm_mmc=ET-_-Trans-_-Shipped-_-General#utm_source=et&utm_medium=trans&utm_campaign=shipped&utm_content=general
PRODUCT DETAILS
Part No.920810A

Warranty Details (1 YR REPLACEMENT IF DEFECTIVE)

Litens Automotive is the original equipment supplier to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep for this decoupling alternator pulley. This replacement pulley is also designed and produced by Litens and is exact in all form, fit, and performance characteristics as the original equipment part (with the exception of not having the car manufacturer's logo or part number applied to the part). Decoupling pulleys are engine specific and should not be interchanged with other types of pulley technology. The Litens OAD type pulley is designed to free-wheel in one direction and, with an internal spring and damping device, softly engage in the opposite direction. The OAD is designed as a sacrificial part of the front-end accessory drive system, protecting other belt driven component as well as the alternator. The correct decoupler pulley ensures smooth, quiet performance as well as increasing vehicle gas mileage. Under normal driving conditions, the original pulley will require replacement in approx. 45,000 - 75,000 miles.

Product Features:

Patented Original Equipment Design
Protects the alternator and other front-end accessory drive components.
Installation instructions included.
New plastic cap included with the OAD.
Tools Required - Litens recommends using an impact gun with a 17mm hex driver bit such as Snap-On P/N CPT110A
Professional mechanics can install this replacement OAD in approximately 2 hours. During alternator replacement, belts, tensioners, and routing pulleys should be inspected.
53mm O.D.; 17mm I.D.; 49mm width; 6-Grooved running surface ; High-grade steel construction. 17mm Hex bit driver Included for ease of installation.

Should it have been the other one? Part No.920834A?

PRODUCT DETAILS
Part No.920834A

Warranty Details (1 YR REPLACEMENT IF DEFECTIVE)

Litens Automotive is the original equipment supplier for this decoupling alternator pulley to both Chrysler and Toyota. The Litens aftermarket replacement part uses the latest design technology used in the Toyota part, so while maintaining the exact Toyota form, may look different than the Chrysler part being replaced. Therefore the Chrysler part performance is improved versus the original equipment part. The Toyota part maintains the exact form, fit, and performance characteristics of the original equipment part (with the exception of not having the car manufacturer's logo or part number applied to the part). Decoupling pulleys are engine specific and can not be interchanged with other types of pulley technology. Under normal driving conditions, the original Chrysler pulley will require replacement in approximately 50,000 - 60,000 miles. The original Toyota pulley will require replacement in approximately 100,000 -120,000 miles.

Product Features:

Patented Original Equipment Design
Protects the alternator and other front-end accessory drive components.
Installation instructions included.
New plastic cap included with the OAD.
Tools Required - Litens recommends using a Miller Special Tools P/N 8433A for pulley removal and installation.
Professional mechanics can install this replacement OAD in approximately 1/2 hours. During alternator pulley replacement, belts, tensioners, and routing pulleys should be inspected.

920834 is the newer grease filled one recommended by Litens and 920720 is the Litens OEM one. I have no clue what 92081A fits.

Anyone know what the OEM Alternator Pulley version's Product Specifications are? Or where to find them?

OEM Part Number: 53013554AF?

Not sure if there might be some glaring size difference that will make this not work, but I'll be the ginnae pig and take it apart to compare.

Wish em luck!!

Both say they are 6 groove pulleys, and are 10mm different in width, so one of the will definitely not work. There should be no "maybes" about it at least.

I used the 920834A.
Its available from Advance Auto parts.
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/litens-overrunning-alternator-decoupling-oad-pulley-original-equipment-quality-920834a/10150692-P

But I found a local guy who repairs alternators out of his home garage. He already had that pulley in stock. I brought my alternator to him and he sold me the pulley and put it on for $50.

920810 is definitely the wrong OAD. IT is used on a Mitsubishi alternator in a Dodge caliber.
The threads are M17 so it will definitely not fit on your Denso Alternator with M14 threads.

920834 is what you want.

Javert.

The Litens 920720 is what you want if you want it to match OEM specifications! It is 57.5mm in diameter with the correct 6 grooves and m14x1.5 CW threads.
The Litens 920834 will work, but it is slightly smaller in diameter at 55mm than the OEM pulley. Threads and grooves are the same as the 920720 pulley...
The 920810 is totally wrong and will not even fit!

See this to compare all Litens pulley specifications and fitment:> [PDF]OEM DECOUPLER PULLEY CATALOG - AIM Parts

I bought a Gates 37015P because I found it cheaper.
It is just a rebrand. It has Litens stamped on the front.

Same with the Continental 49911, it's a Litens 920834 in the box.

Continental 49918 appears to have a Litens 920720 in the box, but that one didn't actually say Litens on it like the 49911/920834 did.

Is this Gates 37015P the exact same as the upgraded grease filled 920834A?

I'd throw out that the remain alternator from autozone is $150 with a lifetime warranty,

$90 for a one year warranty or $150 for lifetime. I went with lifetime.

But their "lifetime warranty" is usually ...doesn't matter when it fails, they'll replace it one time under warranty, and one time only. After that you're on your own. So it's really like you just bought two for $150; but it is cheaper than $180...

I have used their warranty more than twice on the same part in the past with no issues. (Brake Pads) :D
I will inquire about the alternator next time I am in the local store since I too have two of their lifetime warranty alternators both on my Jeep and Dodge gasser 4x4.

I sorta rebuilt my own alternator.
Found a local guy who put on a new Litens pulley for $60 and I put in a new voltage regulator for $40.
No warranty but still working good.

I also have a spare $60 junkyard alternator that tested good.

No, it’s a lifetime warranty, I’ve had more than one replaced under warranty, and I’m about due for another. The decoupled fails much more often than the alternator does, really for $150 I’m buying a lifetime warranty on the decoupler.

I’m on something like number 6 by now.

I’ll just jump in and say that with the typical advance auto online rebate I managed to get a refurbed alternator with decoupler for <$120. Works good so far but it’s only been 3 months or so.

That's exactly what I have in my notes for the updated one (920834) and also as spare.

I had an advance auto and it failed miserably in about 6 months. I got it for the already mounted pulley. I used the failed one as a core change and for an Autozone one. Still on the shelf so I'm not sure how good it is. But I replaced the pulley on the stock one ND it's still. Rockin'... Oem alt is I guess best quality. Having a reman one by somebody trusty is also good, I'm sure.
