Could also be a bad injector connector OR wire to/from the injector.

Recommend pulling the ECM connector and do pin checks between there and the #4 injector connector before pulling the injector.

What special tools are needed? I've pulled many injectors but mostly mechanical ones. It can get very frustrating. I can do the flow test no problem and check the wires to the injector. Does anyone happen to know the pinout for the ecm connector or at least the pins for number 4 injector? Thanks.

Pin-outs and wiring diagrams are obtained from the factory service manual that you can download from Sir Sam's site. http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/ Just make sure you're following the correct year, and the Diesel's ECM info rather than the 3.7L gasser, as they are both in the manual.
I also recommend first, CAREFULLY removing the 8mm nuts holding the ecm to the inner fender mounting studs. Manipulating the ECM to disconnect the connector lowers the risk of damaging the C1 connector.

I recently had this same problem, same codes. Used this forum to help diagnose with no fixes for me. Long story short, i had oil on drivers side fire wall and finally found that the threaded plug on the EGR valve had came out. Was sitting on top of the starter. Was losing my boost from the opening. Just something to look at for future readers. I've never seen this type of situation posted yet, but maybe it has.

Hey guys im sorry it's been so long and to bring this topic back up. Turns out I've got some major health issues I've been dealing with and haven't been able to do much until now. So I did a compression test on number 4 and it was 100 so there is definitely something wrong with the valves, rocker arms, or camshaft. I noticed the motor has quite a bit of blowby coming out of the valve cover so I tested all the cylinders 123 are all around 275-300. Needless to say this motor is bolted together like fort Knox as I have been tearing it down. I'm going to put a set of rings in it so my main question is can I pull the oil pan in frame? Also how do you remove the plastic skeleton frame that is behind the grill cover? It looks like I need to pull the bumper skin off or something? I can't seem to get it off though. Thanks again guys I appreciate it.

Just take the top end off and check the rockers I bet you $100 that’s just the problem save yourself the time of doing the ring job not worth it nine out of 10 times as an airflow issue like that one it’s just bad rockers from my experience

I totally agree and either way certainly worth the effort for potential great return.

To answer the question as well as I can . No, you cannot remove oil pan in frame without a lot of work moving front end parts. I have not tried it though. Just from reading other posts, so yes you can but probably not worth it .

Okay I'm going to just do the top end and roll with it. Thanks for the advice.

I know we talked about diy tunes and paid for ones, what's the pros vs. cons? Is there a reasonably priced live display programmer? I'm mainly after fuel mileage, but it would be nice to change different tunes. I found 3 broken rocker arms on the back cylinder. Thanks again everyone.
