| Post subject: | Replacement of ABS sensor problem |
I replaced my ABS sensor on the left front wheel but after doing the brakes were not working right. When hitting the brakes, It was not braking immediately and instead the brakes were sliding and after a few seconds it was finally braking. I was feeling/hearing a terrible noise on the brakes or wheel. After doing this 2 or 3 times, the ABS light on the dashboard was coming up and it was braking ok but most likely the ABS sensor was disconnected from the ECU. So I took out the new and just installed ABS sensor again and then cleaned the hole in the hub assembly very carefully. Also checked if some debris or part from the old broken ABS sensor was left inside but there was nothing in. The problem is that when I start driving, and try to brake, the brake starts to shake and doesn't stop the car immediately, instead is like It slides and then brakes as I just mentioned before. After about 2 or 3 times of braking like this, it stops doing it and the ABS light on the dashboard comes up. I scanned the ECU using a real Chrysler scanner with ABS support and it doesn't detect any error code. I also cleaned all codes but with no avail. What could it be happening? Replace the whole hub bearing assembly with ABS sensor(order one with ABS sensor already installed). Common issue for GM's but have seen it in others. |

I checked for these parts on idparts but they don't have it. Do you know where I can buy it online? Thank you. |

Any parts store but I'd highly recommend SKF hub bearing assembly. Buy it local for the warranty. |

Is this the right one for my Jeep Liberty 2.8 CRD 2005: http://www.skfpartsinfo.com/ And then the model: BR930224 ? There is no Mopar part for this? |

These are the part numbers I have on file for the Hub Bearings: Notice Mopar list different numbers for left & right bearings with sensor! Front Wheel Hub Mopar -- HUB AND BEARING. Left. Part Number: 52128693AF Right. Part Number: 52128692AF Hollander Number 538-01582L, 538-01581R Timken front L or R -- Part: TMHA590452 | Mfr: HA599455L Moog front L or R -- MO513178 | Mfr: 513178 SKF -- BR930224 |

Thanks WW, I wondered if L vs R mattered. |

I suppose that this BR93022F is both for left and right. I am in need of the left one. It is weird because I already ordered the ABS sensor in it was different for left or right and on this one from SKF, it is the same. Apart from this, any good online parts store to recommend? Thank you |

Thank you OE has to show different part numbers for left and right even if they are the same part. Does not apply to bolts/nuts/washers unless you run into a weird off the wall thing like hyundai did for some years of there SUV's with right hand and left hand thread cam bolts. |

I replaced the ABS sensor for this SKF BR930224 Hub Unit and now every time I reach 40 mph, the ABS light comes up. We scanned it with a Chrysler scanner and the problem seems to be that the speed reading on the wheel that I replaced the sensor is 44 mph while all the other wheels are going at 40 mph. So it seems that this new ABS sensor is sending a different speed information to the ECU than the rest of the wheels and this is causing the ABS light on the dashboard to come up. What could be the reason to all this? |

I have a 2005. The left and right sides are definitely different wiring harnesses. When my right side stopped working, I got a constant ABS light and my odometer stopped working. |
