Which direction is the seal supposed to be on the crank? Which side of the seal should be facing out? Should it be installed in the cover first and then onto the crank or installed on the crank and then put the cover on? |

seal goes in cover first seal lip facing the crank other words from inside of cover lips face you |

Thanks for the response. When I pulled it apart it was the opposite direction, lip out. |
