Encountered a 2006 Liberty with both the CRD and BlueTec (Powered by Mercedes Benz) badges, so I chatted up the owner.
She got it second hand from the original owner who bought it in Germany.
Interesting, no?

There is no difference between a German Liberty CRD and one from the USA (or anywhere else) as every single one was built in Toledo Ohio.

Likely the owner just bought the badge and stuck it on b/c he kept getting yelled at by annoyed Mercedes owners thinking he was blocking the diesel (gazoil) pump and keeping them from the rest of their day.

I'm sure you right. Bluetec is a Mercedes thing, not a Bosch or VM Motori thing, and it first came out in late 2006, but only on 2007 and later Year models.

If this is the case, then I understand his pain. I get very irritated at my local station when the morons use the one pump with diesel(which is on the other side of the lot than the 4 other pumps) to fill their gas cars. My favorite part is when they finish filling the car and leave it there while they go inside to buy coffee.
