ever since I bought the crd there has been what I call a plunger sound on rough surfaces like field or gravel roads. sounded like a broken shock on the passenger side front. well it turned out to be worn sway bar bushings. we took one of the sway bar links off and drove the crd and the noise went away. the jeep only has 78000 miles on it, we are replacing them today with neoprene bushings.

Please post what aftermarket brand of neoprene bushings you decide to use.... I have the same problem with one of my CRDs.

I had a similar problem with our CRD. I now spray the sway bar bushings with silicone lubricant every oil change. It only takes a minute or two and it stopped the noise.

Am I correct in stating that you use silicone spray because it will not deteriorate the rubber?
