Have no idea why, here in central GA diesel has jumped from $2.29 to $2.69 in recent days.
Glad I filled up the Jeep and the Dodge Cummins diesel before the prices increased.
Driving the Dodge gasser now most everyday since gas is only $2.19
Funny, we saw an almost exactly-similar jump here this past week: $2.19/gallon to $2.56/gallon. No idea why other than the possibility of Winter fuel supply, but we didn't see a jump like this last year at this time.
Well I don't see supply or demand problems driving this price increase! Very strange!
We're now up to $2.62/gallon; gas has not followed suit.
This is not an unusual pattern around here: diesel prices typically lag gas price increases, but diesel is slower to come down again when gas prices fall. My guess is that this is down to diesel demand typically being around 25% that of gas.
All I know is that we've sidelined the one other car that more or less requires no-ethanol regular gas for the time being... That was at $2.81 earlier today.
