Have no idea why, here in central GA diesel has jumped from $2.29 to $2.69 in recent days.
Glad I filled up the Jeep and the Dodge Cummins diesel before the prices increased.
Driving the Dodge gasser now most everyday since gas is only $2.19

Funny, we saw an almost exactly-similar jump here this past week: $2.19/gallon to $2.56/gallon. No idea why other than the possibility of Winter fuel supply, but we didn't see a jump like this last year at this time.

Well I don't see supply or demand problems driving this price increase! Very strange!

Over the last 3 months crude oil prices have gone from $47 to $55 per barrel.

We're now up to $2.62/gallon; gas has not followed suit.

This is not an unusual pattern around here: diesel prices typically lag gas price increases, but diesel is slower to come down again when gas prices fall. My guess is that this is down to diesel demand typically being around 25% that of gas.

All I know is that we've sidelined the one other car that more or less requires no-ethanol regular gas for the time being... That was at $2.81 earlier today.

I think I have you all beat, $3.59 for me here in CA ever since the state tax increases a couple weeks ago. I'm probably one of the few CRDs out here. I was considering the Mazda CX5 diesel next year for the wife but standing by to see how prices go.

I'm amazed to see prices on the mainland higher than Hawaii. Normally diesel fluctuates throughout the $4 range. Lately diesel has been $3.40 - $3.45. We are typically 30-45 days behind world barrel pricing as that is how long it takes to get crude here and processed locally into fuels.

Dean.

Ex-SoCal here. I remember when regular gas hit $5/gallon in L.A. back around the 2007/8 timeframe; sounds like you're not far away from that now.

GTFO. Trust me, it's better in Free America.

Looked up while I was getting robbed and noticed gas and diesel at the same price... $3.349 per gallon.

Around here the oil companies just bribe our government into handing over $6,000,000,000.00 in profits. Actually the energy companies are seating their own people in our legislature.

Good news is I still feel like I'm saving $0.001 per gallon. I'm gonna be rich.
