Have you tried placing it in Neutral right after you first start it up and letting it idle or revving it slightly above idle speed for about 10-15 seconds and then place in Drive and see if it makes a difference?
Try it and report back!

Sometimes when I start up engine seems to lack power unless I rev the engine a bit. It happens more often when I park for a short time and start driving again while engine still warm. It feels like air in fuel or lack of boost Anyone else experience this or know a possible cause? |

Try it and report back! That's the direction I was heading too.  It sounds like the classic early model trans pump drainback valve failure. Starting it in Neutral or popping it there while you belt up makes it more cooperative. |
