Ive been looking at vehicles on Craigslist. Test drove 3. Still waiting for the right one. I've got 7500 I can spend, max.
Thought maybe this forum might have something.
I'm in Missouri
PM me if you got any leads or offers.

Thanks!

PS. Opinions welcome on this KJ. It's the best thing I've found on CL in the last two months looking. I'm considering making the 8 hour trip to see it this week.

Some on Ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-Jeep-Libe ... b2&vxp=mtr

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Jeep-Libe ... sN&vxp=mtr

Make the 3rd one a low ball offer. Just be careful with Florida & Texas vehicles after the hurricanes.

Definitely you do not want to deal at all with any kind of a flood vehicle. That is just asking for problems.

Luckily enough, I can offer rock solid proof of where the jeep I am selling was located during the hurricanes, it was in between my motorhome and my cargo trailer being pulled along, to keep it safe. :D

Just very curious, how did you get away legally with pulling a vehicle with an attached trailer in tow of the motor home?
There are quite a few laws restricting the number of tows behind a vehicle and overall length!

A ticket for exceeding these laws this can get super expensive!
Ask me how I know all of this!!!! :banghead:

I imagine things get waived/ignored during hurricane evacuations.

I would be inclined to agree with this statement. I was driving the RV and went past no less than 50 state troopers in 3 states, in both directions. I fully expected to get pulled over at least once, but not one even blinked. The mileage (as expected) sucked, but then this was a special situation. The RV was capable enough however, I could do pretty much any speed I desired. Still kept it slow for safety.

Now I have also seen numerous RV setups when NOT evacuating for a hurricane, that make me question. One of the more outlandish ones has been featured on TV on Destination America on an RV show - this thing is a 45 foot Prevost chassis monster bus RV built by Millennium Coaches out of Orlando. It has a matching paint ~24' cargo trailer (which is as tall as the bus) and then a powerboat (~20' Bayliner type) behind that! I don't know how the bus has enough motor to pull all this, but it does. This is close to 100' long. At that length, I believe they are supposed to have pilot cars - They don't. I actually saw this one in person rolling down 95 in Florida one time. Jeebus that is a big sucker.

Other things I have seen have been decent sized 5th wheel RVs pulled by big pickups, with a bumper pull flat trailer behind that - or a boat. Then there was a "tow dolly" behind an RV that had a deck between the RV and the dolly plate... With a golf cart on it! At least that one "technically" was still only a dolly, if a big one. Amazing creativity, but I'd guess none of these setups were very cheap.

Obviously the enforcement on these is either lacking, or nonexistent.

Most large RVs are just under the weight where a CDL is required.
Add a trailer and and now your total GVW requires a driver with a CDL.

See this website, if may be of help!> http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/02/st ... e-tow.html

I know for a fact that NC will ticket you for pulling two trailers no matter what the combination, motorhome, vehicle, & trailer; tow truck, travel trailer & 4 wheeler trailer, etc...

So be careful out there folks!!!
It is simply not worth the ensuing fine!

Red states on map that DO NOT allow triple towing of any kind:

A CDL is never required for private vehicles. It is a Commercial Drivers License. I have a dump truck with air brakes and a 33,000 GVW. I also have a old White COE tractor to play with. Before I retired I had a CDL I dropped it because I had no reason to keep paying for it.. Perfectly legal!

Double towing is legal here in Ky, but the first trailer must have brakes!

Hey StA,

I wish I would have seen this back then. I have a 2006 with 193k miles on it and live in the KC area (KS side). If interested, PM me your email address and we can converse via email.

I had it on eBay and Craigslist, but after not selling for over a month I pulled the ads for the week of Christmas thinking no one would be buying a vehicle that close to Christmas. Also I've had an EGR delete (Weeks Stage 1 kit) since September, so I decided to put that on this week as a "what the heck, I have it and a way to work, why not install it?"

I just got that buttoned up tonight, and because it was due for a fuel filter too, I was putting a new one of those on...only to strip out the threads of the fuel head when I was repriming the fuel at the bleeder valve. :banghead:

So I have to fix that now! But I plan on doing that before putting it back up for sale.

It's lifted 2.5" and on BFG A/Ts (265/70r16). This is my YouTube video if you want to check it out in the interim - https://youtu.be/nliVO_Gx8fU

If you are shopping for a KJ check this one out...pretty rare to find one under 70,000 miles
USD goes alot farther as CAD. No idea what it takes to get across the border.
