Does anyone have a ballpark on the book hours for pulling a CRD engine?

I don't know since I haven't pulled one yet.

Personally I would try to clean the little freeze plug and the area around it with carb cleaner and then put some black silicon Permatex sealer on the plug and immediate surrounding area before I pulled the engine. Give it the full cure time in a heated garage.

Man, amazing thread. I have a "massive" oil leak that I literally abandoned my CRD for... I pulled the transmission thinking it was the RMS, but that solved nothing. Retrospectively, I was stupid to think it was as the rare of flow on the leak isn't the result of oil sloshing around - it's obviously a pressurized source and a real stream. After seeing this thread, I think it is very likely I have the same issue. I had not been successful observing the leak at its source - my symptom is a stream of oil both around and through the bell housing... maybe now with an idea of what I am looking for I will be able to see it.
