"Florida Man Says 5v Glow Plugs are the Best Thing Since Leonard Fournette!"

25 F this this morning and I couldn't find my jacket (or hat, or gloves...).
But my CRD started right up without hesitation and didn't use the block heater.

I know you northern folks probably think this is no big deal, but it means a lot to me :P

Ever since it started getting cold last month, my CRD has had trouble starting in the morning with its 3+ year old Etecno 7v plugs. I would have to occasionally use the block heater.
Over the weekend I put in a fresh set of 5v Bosch plugs and now... :pepper:

Oh, and lets not forget...

GO JAGS!!!

New battery is doing wonders for me...

I'm always afraid that the Princess will rebel in the parking lot at work after sitting outside in the 10 deg F weather all day, but she's starting right up this year with a fresh battery, working lift pump and plenty of Power Service winter fuel additive. :pepper:

Sure that wasn't 25 degrees Celsius? Any glow plug is better than no glow .

Go VIKINGS!

I need a new battery.

And....I have found that at 10F I can coax it to start by cycling the glow plugs a few times and holding the starter on a bit longer than normal.

I have also found that at 0F I will kill my battery fairly quick trying to get it to fire enough to build heat to keep running on its own.
