Hey Guys,

NEVERMIND! I didn't bleed the new fuel filter enough, bleed it a few more times, did 3 seconds of cranking with 30 second rest and after about 3 minutes she started right up!

So this is the first time my 2006 Liberty CRD won't start. I went to start it a two weeks ago it started, idled and then just died. I haven't been able to start it since. I admittedly realized I hadn't replaced the fuel filter recently so I ordered that, took a little over a week to get here, installed it today and it still won't start.

The Liberty has 213K on it, and I was just about to do the 200K maintenance on it. I did the 100K maintenance on it at 115K when I bought it so the timing belt etc only has 98K. I'd really like to get it running before doing the timing belt, rocker arms, and turbo replacement I have for it.

I currently have no engine codes, I've bleed the fuel system, and I'm not sure what else to look at. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Grant

Love it when a problem fixes it's self.

Ever considered installing an intank pump?
It solves all these air in fuel problems!

Yes but I'm just out of funds at the moment, I'm looking at 3K of upgrades I'm about to do to my CRD. I've put right at 100K on this Jeep and I love it, so I have no problem investing in this Liberty, I absolutely love my CRD, I'll never get rid of it.

Actually, installing a lift pump is one of the first upgrades most perform.
It solves air in fuel problems forever! :D

Oddly enough I've never had that problem or at least it's never been apparently. I checked my logs on when I did replacement and the old fuel/water separator filter had been in for 50K and when I went to replace it, it seems loose, it was really easy to get off so I'm presuming that was the issue. Like I said when I get some more funds put together I'll look into replacing the lift pump.
