Cetane numbers vs. octane points

Does anyone know if cetane "numbers" work like octane points as far as terminology? Those cheap octane booster that claim to boost octane by 6 points really just take it from 87 to 87.6 if you start out with regular pump gas.

Do cetane boosters work the same way? Power service claims to boost cetane by 6 numbers, but is that from 40 to 40.6 or 40 to 46?
