The Jeep had started leaking coolant about 2 months ago, it had progressed to where I was having to add about a cup a day to keep the LoCool message off before I had time and garage space to take a look at it (I admit I was putting it off for fear of how serious it might be! :grim: ) The fluid was puddling below the turbo/coolant reservoir area and I was expecting to find a busted hose or cracked coolant tank.

After I removed the air filter box I immediately noticed the lower radiator hose was not seated all the way on the block flange. I got my pliers and went to grab the spring clamp and it fell off the pipe! It had somehow cracked into three pieces and two of the pieces were just barely hanging on and the third piece was long gone. I'm not sure how/why it wasn't leaking worse, but we'll see whether a new screw clamp solves the problem!

That's just about the happiest "low coolant" ending I have ever seen...lol!

The return line is the low pressure (suction) side of the pump, so it would only drip water when the system tried to pressurize. Glad you found it before it came off completely!
