Post subject:  Saved up and looking to lift!

Hello all, been away for a while from the participation side of things but have definitely not stoped keeping up with all the great posts. So I have been saving up in the piggy bank. And am soon going to shop parts to lift my 06 crd. I am aiming at achieving close to the 4" side of things. Being aware of all that is on the scale of doing this i am prepared for any future consequences. Here are the parts that i am planning on acquiring.

Front:
Ome springs
Ome shocks
Bump stops
extended sway bar links
moog tie rod ends
JBA ucas
moog lower ball joints
Top plate spacer
Clevis ring

Rear:
JBA Rear 4" springs
Extended Bump stops
Y-link extension bracket(which i already have from previous gas kj)
Blisten 4" rear shocks

Extended Brake lines.

And on the side lines for cut down cv axles....

If there is anything i should be aware of Or if im missing anything from the list. Please chime in. So far my CRD is gde hot tuned with weeks stage 1 and 2 egr delete and have installed my old ARB bumper with winch. which even though it fit well was slightly modified for cosmetic reasons. was Lifted by about 1.5" to almost fender level. I will try and take pictures as soon as possible and posted.

4 inches of lift is a bit too much for a CRD.
The CV axles start to get into a bind. You would have to have them cut down.
And OME front springs + top plate + clevis will only get you about 3" of lift.

If you really want 4 inches, JBA sells an adjustable front coil-over kit. But you would still have to deal with the CV axles.

2.5 - 3 inches is much more doable.
Definitely should consider getting the JBA upper control arms with replaceable ball joints.

JBA upper control arms are definitely on the list. I was thinking I'd achieve the 4" with a .5" Clovis ring and 1/4" top plate. Since the one springs yield 2.5" that would make it 4" and then be happy with whatever it settles at.

With my previous gasser kj, I had more then 4" of lift and never had any issues with the half shafts. But I am definitely contemplating the cut down cvs since the crd driver side is shorter then the gasser.

What did explode in my gasser though was my transfer case. Which was fitted with an upgraded propeller shaft from tom woods. Now I don't think it was the driveshafts fault but my transfer case had split in half..

CRD has a different front axle assembly than the gasser.

The differential is shifted to the driver's side, making the axles different lengths.

The driver side (domestic) axles are much shorter, so the lift-ability is more limited than the gasser.

If you plan to use conduit nuts for the clevis spacer, only use three per side for 3/4 inches of added lift.
And watch out for the bottom of the strut mount cutting into the CV boot.

I have never been happy with my lifted CRD and I am about to pull it all off for stock height.

Gone thru 3 and about to be my 4th rear upper control arm and the 2nd set of ball joints. The lift has been on less than 2 years.

It was definitely not a bolt on affair like all my other jeeps.

You need this for the rear!
I have available the mount to allow the Iron Rock Rear Upper Control Arm for the WJ to be bolted and fitted to the Jeep Liberty rear axle with no modifications.

The Iron Rock control arm is super strong and fully adjustable and allows for more flexibility of the rear axle when lifted without things getting into a bind.
The bushings and single ball joint are all replaceable along with the ball joint having a serviceable grease fitting.
