I wouldn't worry about this.
Engine builders claim up to 80% of exhaust valve heat is shed through contact with the seat. Reducing the area of contact in the case of exhaust valves, puts more thermal stress on the neck of the valve. It
could be of no measurable difference, but logically seems that it also
could exacerbate the fatigue problem that apparently exists already.
