As Gordon suggested, absolute best bet is to totally remove the entire EGR system and eliminate the the whole mess by adding a Weeks Elbow Kit from Sasquatch Parts.

https://shop.sasquatchparts.com/product ... e1-stage2/If that is not an option, at least add a block off plate in the EGR exhaust feed tube to the EGR valve and remove the butterfly flapper in the FCV.
There are only two small torx screws holding the butterfly plate in the shaft of the FCV.
