Slipped timing belt got me in here, broken glow plug took me further. Rockers had no damage, but I'm replacing anyways. Really having a hard time spending more money, but definitely going to change head gasket and bolts. With no signs of other engine problems, i don't think I'll do head studs, but i might do the weeks 1&2. What would you guys choose?
Since you are replacing the rockers, replace the head bolts with the ARP head studs one at a time while you are in there that deep.
Install instructions are covered on this forum. >
viewtopic.php?p=916715#p916715As to the EGR delete, as others have recommended, plan to do the Weeks Elbow Kit later down the road when funds are available, it is certainly worth the money as it allows you to completely remove the EGR system and all of its ancillary parts.
In in the meantime, block it off with a block-off-plate that can be home made out of a piece of sheet metal or the top of a soup or vegetable can . Cost $0.00
