Post subject:  Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Question

2005 Jeep Liberty CRD with EGR delete. Shortly after I installed the EGR delete kit my engine developed a small fuel leak. I narrowed it down to the fuel rail pressure sensor. Removed the sensor and noticed that there was no rubber o-ring on the base of the sensor. Is there supposed to be? I went to the local parts store and found an o-ring that was a close fit. Re-installed and I still have a slow leak but now the Jeep dies under acceleration as if it doesn't have any fuel. When this happens it will restart without any issue. No CEL. Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks!

no rubber o ring exists that would hold 29k psi.
no rubber o ring is present there.
If you look at the business end of the pressure sensor, you will see a raised ring along the outside. This raised ring, with the pressure of being torqued, makes a very high pressure contact against the machined boss of the fuel rail. The fuel pressure solenoid at the back of the rail seals the same way.

I assumed that was the case, which is why I asked. Thank you for confirming. Do you happen to know what the torque specs on the sensor are?

1. Install fuel pressure sensor in fuel rail. Tighten sensor to 35 N·m (26 ft. lbs.)..
