Hello guys, this was answered before however i want to clarify with you guys. 06 CRD FRONT SUSPENSION SAGGING (AS EXPECTED) purchased in 2013, 100k miles. I did most of the important mods. Now the suspension is next, currently closed to 130k miles, is it worth it to go to OME lift kit? or stay with stock level suspension? because i dont do offroading but i like the look of it being lifted, and having bigger tires. Also this vehicle serves as a spare vehicle it would be a summer project. Thought????? I appreciate it.

Here is my understanding, and if I'm wrong, I"m sure I will be corrected.

#1 - JBA coilovers if you can offord them.

#1.5 - Tom Mudd/JBA Econo Lift if you can't afford the coilovers.

#2 - If you cannot afford the Tom Mudd EconoLift, get the OME-OME true spring kit, 790s front, 948s rear. If OME 132L rear shocks are not available, use Bilsteins. The Frankenlift II kit includes all needed brackets and bumpers and the front struts come assembled and ready to install.

#3 Anything else at your own risk. *General rule* There are many reasons for, and many ways to change your suspension. *Not all changes are clear improvements.*

I can’t say enough good things about the Frankenlift II. It gives the CRD the stance it should have had from the factory and improves the ride immensely. The only real problem with it (and it’s not the lift kits fault), is that it will “help” you identify other problems with your suspension and drivetrain. Be prepared to potentially swap things like motor mounts, transmission mounts, suspension and drivetrain bushings, cv-axles, u-joints, etc. these things are not exactly likely, but every vehicle is different and some additional work may be required.

Thank you for the replies, I will source out frankenlift II lift kit soon. I have to call around to find heavy duty spring compressor so far i did all the preventive maintenance front wheel barrings motor mounts and trannymount. all the CV shafts and 4x4 rubber boots are still intact. i will be replacing lower ball joints just because and if any buschings are found to be worn out. Thanks again!

A decent size auto shop should have a strut press. Much safer for you to pay $50 and have them assembled. My local shop just let's me use there press for free.

Frankenlift II comes with the front struts fully assembled so you don't need a compressor to assemble.

The pre-assembled kit comes with all new parts for the coilovers, the un-assembled version you must re-use your top plates and isolators which do wear out.

Plus those 500lbs rate coils are very risky compressing without the proper compressor.
