One of the better options currently available right now and highly praised by some of the YouTube diagnostic technicians is the Think Tool Pro.
It will perform Bi-Directional +ECU Coding and comes with 2 years of free updates.
They currently come in several different model levels with different options and price ranges.
I personally cannot attest to their actual capabilities on 05/06 Jeep CRDS as I don't own one yet. (Would love to have one!
)
I have a Actron CP9690 Elite AutoScanner, it does ok, but is only good for scanning & diagnostics. It
will not perform Bi-Directional or ECU Coding.
I also have a Bluetooth OBDII Link that I can use for graphing and real time data point monitoring on a Android Galaxy Note.
Hopefully some others will chime in and offer their experience with scanners on an 06.
I know some on here have reported of scanner data lockups after a short time of data monitoring due to data bus overload.
I have never experienced a lockup.
