Hi All. What a great group with a wealth of information. Problem I'm having is after Jeeps sitting for two years along with doing the timing belt replacement, all new parts needed to be replaced. Yes I'm here in the LA Calif. area where everyone has no idea what a Jeep CRD is. This includes the Jeep dealerships!!
Started the engine a week ago after finishing putting everything back together. Its running great and passed the Calif. smog check.
Question is? I'm now having a problem with only getting 8" of vacuum from the engine making the breaks inoperative unless I push hard to get the Jeep stopped. Any ideas?

2005 Jeep CRD 99,500 miles
ARP head bolts.
New rockers, water pump & thermostat
Timing belt. Tensioner. Glow plugs.
Serpentine belt, new tensioner.
IDParts turbo hoses. New radiator hoses.

Have you checked the rubber hoses going from the vacuum pump to the brake booster and also into the cabin where vacuum operates the internal vanes?

If these hoses have corroded with time and developed cracks or have come off then you could have a leakage of vacuum.

If there is no vacuum to the cabin then the air vents will only blow out the defroster vents...not to the side or foot vents.

Possible that the vacuum pump has failed or maybe brake booster is at fault if the internal aircon vanes are working properly.

Have you replaced brake fluid and bled the system?
