FCM - Mopar part number 56044599AF = Part is no longer available from Chrysler, part has been discontinued. "The Front Control Module (FCM) (2)(FRONT CONTROL MODULE) is located in the engine compartment below the Power Distribution Center (PDC), below the battery tray. The FCM's primary function is to define communications between electronic controllers and move data collected from the multiple controllers to the host controller for processing using Controller Area Network (CAN), Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) buss or J1850. The FCM does not contain any drivers, and therefore does not directly operate any vehicle components." "the Front Control Module (Gateway module)controls the fuel level sensor, low oil pressure light, A/C pressure sensor, generator/alternator field control, and Water In Fuel Sensor" Only used on 2005 CRD Is anyone parting out a 2005 CRD that will sell me their FCM? |

According to what I have read, 2005 Liberty's including the V6 gassers all use this same front module 56044599af. So boneyards should have plenty of them?

The FCM is 2005 diesel only. Whatever that parts website shows is wrong. I've seen plenty of gasser Jeeps and none have the FCM. FCM was also 2005 only, in 2006 those functions switched to the BCM. 2002-2004 ECU(edc15) supported those functions, for some reason the EDC16 ECU does not support those input, so another module has to read them. |
