Thanks to everyone who has shared knowledge and experiences about their own Provent install.

I have been comparing many different Provent installs on Lostjeeps.com and other sites (http://www.auerbach.ca/kj/provent/ and http://www.jeffdaigle.com/provent/prove ... nstall.pdf and more...), and combined what looked like the best practices.

Here is my attempt...

The kit I assembled (minus the bracket I made):

The Provent installed in placed in the engine opening with the bracket (and I moved those 2 vacuum lines to the front of the power-steering fluid reservoir):

Install done - connected all the hoses, tightened down all the clamps, and made sure nothing was rubbing or blocking the flow of any thing (and made sure the photo had the flash for more detail):

Put the plastic cover back on the engine top, and that's how it looks under the hood now:

I've had a Provent sitting on my shelf for a couple of years. Might just get around to installing it.

Me too. Ugh. Its so big and the engine bay is so tight.
A lot of the GTDI catch cans are being mounted behind the grill, in front of the radiator. This is how my F150 is and I can tell you that I get a ridiculous amount of stuff. I have a 12 oz can and have to empty every 500-1000 miles in the winter. I don't know how the provent would do here though.

I also pull and clean the filter with brake cleaner at the same time.

There was a recommendation from thermorex that I should use silicone hoses, so I made the switch. The rubber hoses didn't leak, but they began to get more flexible and stretchier than they were when I first installed them, so it was showing that silicone was the way to go.

And what did you use to step down form the 1" provent tube to the 3/4" tube for the jeep. Is that just 1" hose crushed down with a clamp?

The 3/4" Silicone hose that I linked stretched just fine over the 1" Provent housing tube without much stress. I can take a photo and upload it and linkit. BRB.

Yes, those are custom formed silicon hoses. The inside is fluorolined, just like Samco CAC hoses, for superior oil/diesel resistance.
