Please? I have been through a set of OEM and a set of the generic IDParts. Back on a set of OEM, and I only have 125k miles. Please bend up some aluminum tubes so we can finally be done with rubber boost hoses.

It's a good idea, but the engine is going to rock back and forth on the motor mounts relative to the intercooler - and we all know how sturdy the plastics on the intercooler's inlet and outlet are.

There isn't a good way that I can see to do this without having rubber or silicone hoses at at least the intercooler.

It would have rubber couplings are the turbo, intercooler in, intercooler out, and intake manifold. It would not be completely rigid, but the couplings would be short and straight.

It's not going to be cost effective to design and make them, very few people would be buying them. You went from OEM to generic back to OEM, there are 2 quality brands with hoses for exactly our application. Or go to an exhaust shop and see if they can duplicate the hose.

YOu can get some simple bends and silicone couplings and do like Flash did.

Get a good set of Samco or Mishimoto silicone hoses and be done with it.
Many members on this forum are running them with great results.

If

If it were cost effective, we wouldn't be driving these turds. Sasquatch already has either the ability to bend aluminum tube, or they have someone that they work with. How much could it cost? We pay $300 for rubber hoses. I only went back to OEM because I had a set in the garage that I bought before I bought the IDParts hoses.

That would work. And a spare set of rubber parts in stock would not break the bank.

Probably what I will do. I might try the Flash solution. I thought I already had a good set of silicone hoses with the IDParts generic ones, but both blew apart after about 20k miles, within a few hundred miles of each other.

I still have the very first set of prototype samco hoses running on my CRD without issue for 150k miles since December of 2007.

Since they have worked out for over a decade and Samco was willing to work with us to develop hoses for our application I recommend them to anyone who wants to upgrade from the oem hoses. Without samco making the first set I don't think any of the generic or competitors would have made any either.

Samco gets my vote if we are voting.

I guess I'm ordering some Samcos.

Good call!

I did make a set of hard pipes a few years ago. Honestly they are a huge pain to remove and re-install. I have this thing apart all the time, and the flexibility of the Samcos is a huge time saver, in addition to what others have already said.

I do appreciate the suggestion, though!

It was a lot of work but I was able to assemble them for about $100.
Passenger side is easy to remove and install.
Driver side is tougher but made it easy to install a boost gauge port in the tube.
I've had them for over a year now and don't regret it one bit.

What went wrong with your IDParts boost hoses? Aren't they comparable to Samcos?
