Try e-mailing gmctd... If I recall correctly, I think he has a lot of knowledge regarding automatic transmissions. |

I recommend the 545rfe HD-2. It’s what I installed in mine. It has more springs and other pieces for the valve body. Wiring in the resistor is not necessary. The parts for the pump are also not necessary and are only recommended for professional installation. |

Sorry for the ignorance , who is gmctd? gmctd is a username of a Member here on LOSTJEEPS.com. Look him up, and send him an e-mail or PM through LOST. It appears that the last time he was on here was December 26, 2015... so an e-mail - if possible - would be better than a private message. |

I was under the impression the parts differences between the SK kits and the HD-2 kits were the pump parts. Also, I would love a straight answer if the TransGo pump parts are necessary if an upgraded, newer mopar pup is used in the 545RFE. Anyone know? I have tried calling TransGo without success. No one ever answers. |

Ok, I got ahold of Larry via phone at TransGo just now. He states the only difference between the HD-2 and SK kits for the 545RFE is "firmer shifts with the HD-2 kit". He also stated emphatically that I should not put in the resistor that is included in either kit as it will "throw a code for the Jeep Liberty CRD". And, that the pump parts included are pump accumulator springs and are not necessary if you have or are installing the upgraded/newer mopar pump since " those were only included because the original springs often broke". |

I just posted about this, but I'm not entirely unsure the HD-2 kit isn't responsible for my having to buy another solenoid pack 60k miles after installing it. I'm going back to the SK kit this time. |

I answered with my thoughts on the other thread. Long story short - HD-2 modifies 1st and 2nd gear, that's where the sol pack/valve body issue is. |
