Hi all, Got check engine light on, no noticeable issues with starts or anything else. Cleared the codes with Torque, but after couple of days those P1261 + P0671 popped up again. According to this page https://www.autocodes.com/p1261_jeep.html there are several possible issues. Checked glow plugs resistance following the write up by squeeto - all show the same 4 Ohms - the value is suspiciously high, but I have used a cheapo ohmmeter, the point is, it is the same for all plugs. Weird thing: no adverse symptoms whatsoever. Am I in for controller replacement? Thanks in advance, Alex |

Replying to my own question: after yet another glow plug resistance check from the controller connector, the CE light went off and didn't show up ever since. I noticed that the controller connector plugs and unplugs with ease uncharacteristic for something designed to conduct tens of amps current. Apparently the culprit was loose connection, just need to figure out if that can be corrected somehow short of purchasing either the new glow plug controller or harness. Cheers, Alex |
