I cleaned up a bunch of parts since I had to take everything apart to do the head gasket.

Three of the 4 liberty crds that I own. The 4th liberty is a parts jeep. Eventually I'll pull the motor out and rebuild it.

What did you paint the turbo with?
Did the paint cook or peel off?

I’ve seen some super high temp paints before but they usually require some special prep and curing procedure.

We just used spray bomb high heat paint for the turbo. The stuff said good for 800 degrees. So far I've only put on 10 miles since all the work was done. We will see how long it lasts. A 1980 cj 7 is under the tarp. Just went through the motor. It needs a full restoration. Has frame rust. I just had to do some work on the blue limited liberty in the picture.

So the electronic control valve was acting up on the blue limited. Had to swap it out with another one I had lying around. That one is running completely stock and has 220,000 miles.

The one I just did all the engine work should run fine now. I just got the egr delete update. Fixed the limp mode issue. Seems to be doing fine except for I think the rear main seal is leaking a little bit. I have the seal and tool to do it with. Just need to drop the trans one day and do the work. Should take me a couple days. I take a few breaks here and there.

What did you use to clean and coat/paint your cam cover on the engine that painted red? Did you use a high temp paint or did you just clean up the aluminum and seal it?

I just used regular aluminum spray bomb paint on the valve cover/camshaft assembly. I used high heat engine enamel for the block and head.
