Not sure how to tell if the stock 7v programming has been changed to 5 v, but you could pull plug #1 and see what voltage plugs are in there. People have been running 5v plugs on 7v stock programming without issue for a while now. |

Yup. Just replace all 4 of them with 5 volt steel tipped plugs. IDparts should have them in stock. |

If I have that relay looking glow plug controller does it mean I got the 5v ??? |

5v / 7v function is determined by ECM programming. "Controller" is simply a solid-state solenoid switch. |

I've sent a e-mail to GDE but no answer , maybe on holliday ? So removing the glow plug is the only way to figure out the voltage of the system ? thanks |

Unless you can dig up some repair history or find a sticker somewhere that says “5v glow plugs.” The sticker on my timing cover still says “7v glow plugs” but I know it has 5v plugs because I installed them. |

Removing the glow plug will tell you the voltage model of the glow plug. One can assume the programming is the same, but that may not necessarily be correct. When I bought mine, for example, the programming is original 7v, but #4 glow plug was 5v Bosch. |
