I've had this happen a few times before, mostly on jeeps that sat awhile or went awhile without being shifted.
One time it felt like it happened because power was disconnected while it was in 4wd, and after seemed one off, maybe a coincidence.
In any case, go find a dirt gravely road, or parking lot. shift through all the gears and into 4 lo, drive in 4lo and then shifted back out all the way to 2wd.
See if it clears up after that. Dont make any sharp turns if you do not have a loose surface as you will put bind on the 4wd geartrain and make it hard to shift out of 4wd.
I always just used the 'back up in a straight line for ~20 feet' trick to unbind the old full-time 4x4 Dodge Power Wagons I used to drive.
I haven't had issues with the Jeep, but wouldn't the same trick work on the Jeeps?
