2005 Jeep Liberty CRD - 169800 miles

I'm looking to buy a new car and I'm ready to part ways with the Jeep. I would like to see it go to a good home rather than a dealer trade in. The vehicle drives great. Transmission shifts smooth and quick. Steering is good and suspension rides really nice. The AC is cold. Everything works on the vehicle and I drive it to work at least three times a week, 55 miles round trip.

Clean Texas Title.

Pictures of the vehicle.

Note: I have the headrests, and engine cover. The headrests were removed because I fold the seats down all the time. The engine cover was removed for the pictures to show the engine.

Many new parts. It is old and used, but still a good vehicle. I have seen a lot of CRD’s around and I think mine all things considered is in better condition than most. Everything works. I am sure I am missing stuff. Engine oil changed with large capacity filter and Synthetic Rotella T6 every 5000 miles.[/color]

Double din dash stereo. Pioneer with bluetooth and andriod auto.

Needs:

Probably glow plugs, light is on for it and I don’t want to mess with it as it hasn’t affected the performance of the engine. I figure whoever buys the vehicle will probably do a total upper end rebuild at the timing belt change and can replace the glow plugs then. (it is recommended to replace rockers at the 200k mile timing belt change or so I have heard)

There is a intermittent hesitation at idle but it isn't all that noticeable. I suspect it is the sensor behind the CP3 pump(fuel quantity solenoid). It would be an easy fix.

Was going to add front tow hooks, but never got around to it. I even fabricated something out of ½ inch plate steel.

If I am reading this correctly there is 150,000 on the timing belt? Please PM your minimum as it looks like it will need work and this would be a toy for me since I want one and it can keep my current liberty company. I am a long way away but it would be a good trip for a few days.

If there was a timing belt change between your purchase and current miles, it is not indicated above.

I need to proof read my post some more. The mileage isn't 269800 miles, it is 169800 miles. I was wondering why so many people looked at it and were like "Nope!"

That changes the picture a LOT.

I hope the new owner enjoys my Liberty CRD as I have over the years. It should be a pretty reliable vehicle as I have replaced practically everything except the engine block. He is already a member to this site, but new to the CRD world, so I hope everyone on here will offer the same support that has been offered to me. We are both ARMY vet's, so that is pretty cool too. I'm glad it is going to a good home. Thank you Lost!

Congrats on the sale! Which transmission did you put in it? Did you end up getting better MPG with the newer tranny?

The transmission was purchased from ebay for 375 dollars with 210 dollars shipping. The transmission came out of a 2015 Ram 1500 2wd with about 1000 miles on it. Technically it is a 65RFE. I installed a new Euro TC and a new updated "White plug" solenoid pack as well as new input, output and a pressure sensor. When I swapped out the 4wd extension housing, I installed the new bearing from the 2wd extension housing. Installed new transmission lines, B&M cooler and a PML deep pan. I used Havoline ATF4 transmission fluid.

I ended up putting 20,000 miles on that transmission without a single issue before selling the vehicle.
