First. Thank you to everyone who has tried to help us with our 05 CRD. Currently waiting to save more to try to get it to run.
Secondly, while researching I came across a Youtube Video that said to never reflash the computer with a company other than the manufacturer, especially a diesel. There was a lady who did this to her $60000 Mercedes and now has a $60000 lawn ornament. The manufacturer says it is the "flash" company's fault and that same company is stating it is Mercedes fault. I'm just curious if there are other people on here who did the Green Diesel Tuning and then had catastrophic engine failure like us? I'm beginning to wonder as what he was saying in this video made sense. And the lady had the same issue where she just couldn't start the vehicle again.
The only response we have gotten from Green Diesel was that the vehicle's timing must be off. And that it is the only reason why the engine won't start since replacing both camshaft and crankshaft sensors.
So, has anyone had this issue after performing a Green Diesel Tune?

Haven't heard anyone have issues flashing gdes tune ever. There have been some issues with flashing over the diy tunes using cheap tuning cables however. I'm sure whatever issue your having is completely unrelated.

Thanks. That makes me feel better. Some one said it is possibly the PCM. I'm just tired of paying a car payment on a vehicle that has sat in my driveway longer than it has ran! After this I will never own a jeep again!

My wife's crd sat in the driveway for a year and a half before I was able to afford to fix it after it dropped a valve. I know the feeling.

People perform re-flashes every day with no issues. Diesels are no different than gassers in this department, i have done both. GDE has a good record and stands behind their work according to many previous posters on this forum.

See this post on your other thread; your problem may have been identified. :D

I have two 2006 CRDs. Both have had GDE tunes in them since I bought the vehicles. Never had any issues related to the PCM or the tune.

I've probably flashed my Jeep literally 200+ times using a shoddy chinese Ebay cable. I've even had bad flashes where the jeep wouldnt start and it just required that I reflash it again and it was totally fine. I would not worry in the slightest about GDE's device.

Also, the lady with the Mercedes lawn ornament is at fault. You flash the ecu of your car with a non-factory approved tune and with a non-factory approved device, that's on you. The risk should be extremely low, people flash all sorts of different cars all the time with tuning devices and 99.999% of the time nothing bad happens.

These jeeps are too iffy anyways to point fingers at any one person/company when something goes wrong. These things blow up left and right. Just look down the list of threads and half them are about dropping valves and blowing up turbos. They suck.
