My liberty is up to 190k miles. I'm just about to do the timing belt kit with idlers tensioner and water pump front and was wondering about coolant.

Jeep is running perfectly and I did the weeks kit a few thousand miles ago. When I drained coolant for stage 2 of the kit it looked great. I don't see any sludge in the expansion tank and can't see any gunk down the radiator. Is it likely good enough to just replace the old coolant with Zerex G05 when I do the timing belt or should I flush out the system too? I intend to blow air in with a sponge covered shop vac as in (squeeto's?) coolant flush thread.

Just a quick update if anyone searches for this. I blew out the system and recovered about 10qt of the old orange fluid. I added 50/50 mix of new zerex g-05 and it seems to be working fine.

Also, on a side note, if your transmission is sometimes slow to shift and shifts with a clunk from D to R inspect your transmission mount. Mine was toast and caused those symptoms.

Slow to shift can often mean time to change the transmission filters. That's always been my Que, and so far has always cured it.
