I just put in a new rear crankshaft seal and put it all back together the way it came apart. Now the motor won't turn over. I followed the torque spec's from the repair manual.

past posts say there are shims associated with the crank seal that are easy to over look when old seal is pulled. if left out on install of new seal the crank will bind and engine will not turn over

The shims are for setting the the crankshaft "end play" and they MUST be reinstalled correctly for the rear main bearing thrust bearing to have the proper clearance.
If the shims are inversely left out when the flex plate (flywheel) is bolted back up to the crankshaft, it can lock up the crankshaft on this engine due to lack of proper clearance.

Crankshaft End Play
0.080-0.280 mm / 0.003-0.011 in.
This is covered in the FSM in Section 9 :D

Finally had time to figure out I somehow installed the seal wrong. At least this time it's in the garage and not in the driveway.
