Those intake rocker dampers in your pictures really look badly damaged! Looks like it even nicked the head itself a little?
Very odd; don't recall anyone has ever reporting or showing pictures of this kind of damage happening before?
Hopefully you can salvage the head if you find no other damage incurred... :D

Interesting how the timing belt looks intact.
It definitely skipped a whole bunch of teeth though.

It appears that the lash adjusters were the weak link in this instance.
As long as the lash adjusters don’t wobble in the bores then the bores should be fine.

ohh wow whats left of the lash adjusters are bad. On mine every one of the rockers were broke but I was able to easily pull them out in one piece, well the rockers were bent in half where they should have been bent. At this point I would probably pull the head just to be sure. You also have the stock studs, might be a good time to replace them while your in there. Its another expense though.

Yea those nicks are a little more that than that, they are fairly deep indentations, so much so that the adjusters wont come out under simple lifting, I think I might have to either lever them out some how or hopefully not have to drill them out.

Interesting enough all the exhaust rockers were broke in half but one and it is all but broke thru except 1/8". Unexpectedly the intake rockers arms themselves are all in tact, the adjusters not so much.

It is because of the adjusters look as though they do and the arms are in good shape has me concerned and that is why I am leaning towards pulling the head and check for damage, and if I pull it I will contemplating new valves.

Has anyone had any luck with any kind of Bore scopes?

Also the pressure testing, what is everyone using in the injector bore adapter to hook the air supply to?

As to the head fastening uses, I will use ARP studs whether or not I pull the head.

Ya you have parts of the old lifters stuck in there. Once you get those parts pulled out I think you will find the bore hole is ok, but its worth looking at. The new style lifters are better than the old.

Its hard for me to say from your pic, but it seems like the valves are all in a line. You can set a straight edge across to be sure.

As I showed in my leakdown video, you might have some stuff stuck below the valve that will get cleared out during the pressure check.

Even when the lifters don't horribly break they can get stuck in there, a curved pick works pretty well to grab and pull them out.

I use the VM1072A, available as a rental here:

There ought to be some others that will work, the injector is a common bosch injector

Sir Sam, and others

Thanks for your insight and guidance. I will keep you posted, waiting on tools. Hopefully this weekend I will be back at it.

Forget drilling them out, metal is way to hard to attempt that.
Leveraging them out using a good curved pricktool or some external lock ring pliers will be your best bet.
If you can get it up enough to lock on to the edge of them with some small needle nose vise grips, that may be of help.
Good luck...just hope head is not damaged to the point of not being able to reuse it.

I bought something just like this
https://www.amazon.com/Performance-Tool-W84004-Hydraulic-Remover/dp/B000N324DU
when I was 18 to fix a collapsed lifter on a 440Mopar.
It worked great then, and on everything I've used it on since.
I haven't had occasion to use it on the CRD yet though

Great tool, I got one tucked away somewhere. Have not used it in years!
