A few days ago an ad popped up on Craigslist for a 2006 Liberty CRD Sport with 43,017 miles on it. Well, I hopped on a plane today and went to take a look.

Let's just say I liked what I saw! I am the proud new owner of a super-low mileage CRD. The salesman who took the Liberty in, told me that the man who owned it was a university professor, who said if he wasn't leaving the country, he would never have considered selling it.

No turbo play, whatsoever, spins freely. I feel like I got a good deal on it and can't wait for it to arrive here so I can start to polish it up into what is possible with this little Jeep!

Here's a link to the listing until they take it down:

Did you hear about the guy who was hooked on brake fluid?
He swears he can stop any time.

I guess its hard to run up the miles when you live on an island

Back in June '17 I bought a 06 CRD for my wife. Had roughly the same amount of miles.
The seller was a former LOST member and had already done the timing belt, EGR delete, and GDE tune. It was a good deal.

Towed it from Baltimore back to JAX with my 05 CRD that now has over 220K miles.
Hers is still under 60K miles.

Good find! That is very low mileage indeed for a 13 year old vehicle.... :-)r

thanks guys, I guess I need to go have a look at it a little closer. I wonder what it is that is between the ball joint and the CV shaft? There's something there, metal, it's being worn down, and has worn a smooth spot on the CV shaft. I'll be removing my list from the 05 Jeep when the 06 gets here, so I'll take a closer look at that point.

Whoops, I thought I was replying to my grease zerk post, not the low mileage post. Thanks for that too though! I'm excited!

Last July I saw an 06 limited for sale with about 20k miles on it, they were asking 20k for it though I don't know what it sold for

Wow! That's overpriced in my opinion, but if someone had the money and wanted to start pretty fresh, that could be a great point to start from! I wonder if it ever actually sold?

Funny thing about the two jeeps I now own, the one with more mileage had weatherstripping in better condition on the driver's door. Looks like the previous owner habitually dragged his feet getting in or out of the newer jeep. I swapped that across, but would love to find a source for weatherstripping in that same profile to replace what is there now.

I love how clean the new jeep is. I used my old jeep as a work truck for a few years hauling around weed whackers and chainsaws and other landscaping tools. I didn't own a truck at the time and figured I didn't buy the jeep to look pretty. I wasn't kind to the interior and my wife was especially displeased when I hauled home a log that oozed sap onto the rear bench seat. (I'm a woodturner too, and could not say no to that log! I was an idiot for not putting it on the rear cargo area mud mat, but it was simpler to throw it in the back seat that day, than to move everything out of the rear to make room for it.) Among many other events, that one did a number on the upholstery. The headliner and rear hatch weatherstripping suffered from an extendable pole saw that bumped around and dragged teeth, leaving a big mark behind.

Long story short, I'm glad to have found this jeep at what I felt was a reasonable price. I'm glad that I have the lift kit to move across, and I'm especially glad that I've gotten better mpg's on this jeep than I ever did with the old one. It's not tuned yet, but my GDE tune is also being moved across as soon as I send the file to Keith and restore the factory tune to the old jeep.

Change the timing belt... Like yesterday or even sooner! That belt aged out (6 year clock) 8 years ago... It is long overdue.
