NO NO NO a thousand times no. Do NOT use an oil air filter. They let way too much crap into the turbo and engine. For the sake of your wallet and engine life use a quality paper filter and change it on a regular basis, more often if you are in a dusty area. |

There are many very good reasons why virtually every manufacturer of engines from lawn mowers to giant gen-sets has quit with the oil-bath type and swapped to dry or spray-oil matrix type like K&N. They are better in pretty much every way, including increase of engine longevity. The engines of 50s and 60s vehicles that used oil-bath filters almost never got to 100k miles without needing a complete rebuild. The engines of today running paper media are capable of 2-3 times that. |

It's done to legitimise the account before it goes on its spamming spree - basically, make some valid-looking posts, then either go back and edit them to be spam later, or start making spam posts once it looks as though it might fly under the radar. |

As a profesional diesel mechanic I can tell you that reusable air filters are crap! The let too much dirt threw, if I am doing a performance intake on a truck I do a S&B intake system with the paper filter and screen pre filter. I run this exact set up on my Dyno truck and it makes over 600whp on the stock turbo. If you are going to use a reusable then use the only one only the market to pass cummins filtration requirements. The AFE pro guard 7, its what I run in my wife's jeep, I have 2 and swap them out every third oil change |

Oil filters allow more air through but also allow more dirt through too. If your worried about power (which you shouldn't be with the CRD) then go with the oil filter, otherwise get a good paper filter like MANN or Napa Gold to ensure the engine is getting nothing but clean air. |
