Finally got around to installing my HDs001 thermostat, man this th8ng heats up fast and the heater has never been hotter . Pricey but a solid piece that I can easily transfer to my next CRD if I ever total this one .Usually when I plug my Liberty in it has Luke warm heater air at first start up and takes a while to get “kinda” hot.I can start it up now after a cool night (sub 40 degree) and it’s hotter within 3-4 minutes than it was after being plugged in all night ,even hotter faster when it’s been plugged in. Temps go midway on the gauge quick as well, never saw these temps even in the summer with old thermostat.

Nice, isn't it? :D

One suggestion: use the 203°F thermostat in Winter, and swap out to the 190°F unit when temperatures start going back up. It's just enough of a difference that there's a noticeable improvement in A/C performance when it's warm out.

I get this response from a LOT of Model 001 owners.

The CRD engine is in it's happy zone; running at an operating temperature range that it was designed to run at.

The engine oil is not quite as viscous.

The parts of the engine are all properly warmed up and fully expanded to their proper operating dimensions.

The engine is combusting the fuel more completely, giving better power and fuel economy. Even with an aftermarket engine tune; unless your engine is operating at a proper temperature, you are not getting the full power and economy the engine is capable of delivering.

ENJOY!

The HDS001 is one of the "must" mod for the CRD !!!

I like the 190F valve, work good for me !!

I think so myself, now that I own one .Almost too pretty to install, rarely do you see anyth8ng made by one person with so much attention to detail and flawless. You can tell Jeffrey actually cares about what he does ,not just throwing so something together and tossing it in a box
