Either that or try to start every few hours. You can always do what I do, Carry a small portable generator with you to plug the block heater in to LOL. Or if you have good enough battery or extra battery (or any startable vehicle nearby in an emergency) an inverter
to hook to your battery and plug it in to that for a while.

LOL but I have actually done this to get cold natured tractor started etc.

That's insane... Aint happenin. I replaced the Etechno 7v with the 5v Bosch and the problem was solved. Etechno plugs suck!

I have a better idea... simply install a Webasto TSL17, (AKA Thermo Top C), diesel fueled engine coolant heater, and be completely rid of your cold start problems forever.

https://www.webasto-comfort.com/en-us/h ... t-heaters/

Mount the heater under one of these...

Expensive? Yes!

Does it work? Better than your wildest dreams! You will not have to idle your vehicle any more to warm it up; it'll already be hot if you run the heater about 40 minutes, even at -40 degrees. You also now have room for a larger Group 65 battery.

We use these with heat exchangers as cab heaters in older hydraulic cranes that had the propane heaters. Very expensive but WAY nicer than the propane ones. Ever been on a construction site and run out of propane? Impossible to find a full 20# bottle, but diesel is everywhere.
