What are symptoms of bad rockers? Is it possible for it to run somewhat normal just a very rough idle and vibration while cruising.

Bad rockers will be a rough idle and kinda a hollow sound. Quickest way to check is to remove the driver side cac tube at the intercooler and check for back pressure

Wasn't there also a rocker test where you looked at the air quantity and compared that number you got to known good levels (sorry I don't recall more details)?

There is a test, but if you have over 100k miles with active EGR you have a 95% chance of having worn out rockers. Change them and add ARP'S or you'll wish you had, and the test isn't going to tell you that you have one that is about to collapse and potentially take out your oil pump with fragments.

Mass air flow readings will tell you the rockers health. Iirc 15g/s and higher is a good reading unless your up in the higher elevation. Anything less you got issues.
