Post subject:  Need to vent about the egr delete kit from Sasquatch

What a nightmare. I ordered the new egr kit from sasquatch and started the project Friday night. The kit came with no instructions or parts list. I did the passenger side which was uneventful. When I went to the drivers side everything seemed to go as planned until I went to cap off the egr port on the elbow. The block off plate did not fit. I was sure I compared the two plates and they were identical. I went online to see if they had a parts list online and the listing for the egr kit was removed. I decided that the block off plates must be slightly different so I disassembled the passenger side again to swap out the block off plates. When I got it out it would not fit the elbow. I reassemble the passenger side and emailed sasquatch. I got an email first thing sat that confirmed that the parts were supposed to be identical and that I needed to send a picture. When I did they sent me a refund for the kit and said that they had discontinued the kit. I made my own block off from the removed pipe and continued the install.
When I tried to install the elbow I found that the new threaded inserts that were installed with the kit were to short.

I haven’t been in the Sasquatch site in a while. Looks like they no longer sell egr delete kits.

They sold them last week but pulled them for some reason. I have an idea why.

I bought the original elbow kit when it first released.
Had zero issues with that install.
Later I added the exhaust manifold plug.

I have no idea what’s changed since then.

Sasquatch has removed the EGR delete Kit from their website; did EPA go after him? :furious:
As to your install issues, you can make a block off plate and cap the end of the EGR feed tube.
See picture below for diamensions and this thread for additional information:> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76576

For the too short studs, go to a good hardware store, they should have some longer metric studs that will cure that problem.

I completely removed the egr system. I would up cutting the end off the exhaust tube where it attaches to the elbow. I crimped the cut end and filled with an inch of JB Weld. I would attach a picture but I can figure out how.

Sasquatch has detailed installation instructions on their website.

I hope the JB Weld will hold up to the high temperatures of the exhaust manifold?
As to pictures, you must place the pictures on a hosting service like PostImage or one of the others and then paste a Img link in your post.

The link to the picture will look something similar to this:

Did you find some longer studs for the elbow?

I was able to use the plug provided by sasquach for the exhaust manifold. The JB Weld was for the intake elbow.

I was able to get the studs out and just reused the original bolts.

All said and done it should work. I removed the egr and kept the original elbow and butterfly valve. It will require a tune for the cel.

Most remove the butterfly plate out of the FCV if they leave it in place. Two small torx screws and you are done with it!

There are some FREE DIY tunes available on LOST to deal with the removal of the EGR & FCV crap.
See this thread for additional informaionff:> viewtopic.php?f=98&t=78418
Cost you about ~$20.00 for a cable.

Yes. I've used them personally.

They are sold explicitly for offroad applications. What the customer uses them for isn't supposed to be their responsibility.
It doesn't make any sense. If the EPA got after him about that, Jeff's thermostat housing could be next, since it modifies combustion temperatures from the EPA regs. I need to get one before that happens.

In the past, yes.
But check the website now. All references to the egr delete kits have been removed.

Did the EPA get to him?
Maybe.
But there are still plenty of DPF delete kits available for sale that reach a broader market for more $$$$.
Not sure why the EPA would single him out.

You needn't worry about that; the Hemi thermostats that are used in the Model 001 come in three different temperatures; 180, 190 and 203 degrees Fahrenheit. Pop out the 203 degree valve that is supplied with the Model 001 and replace it with a 180 degree valve if you think EPA inspectors are going to test for NOx.

The selection of temperatures is another advantage of designing a thermostat assembly around a commonly available valve for a very popular large V8 engine where people are going to race with it.
