So a little pretext. I had just cleaned my MAF sensor because I had been losing power every now and then when going over 65 and was getting p0101 code. I plug in my scanner to clear the code and all of a sudden "no buS" pops up on my odometer. I go to turn the car on, scanner still plugged in, it turns on for a second then dies and won't start up again and starts throwing the U0184. I unplug the scanner and then, it turns on. So my buddy let me use his scanner, it didn't cause the issue and the no bus thing went away as well, and I cleared the U0184. Now I have no codes being thrown anymore so far, drove the thing about 20 minutes, but now the traction control light and Esp Bas electronic stability light are on, and this was not an issue before. They had come on intermittently a few times prior to this but now are always on. I'm at a loss as to what I should look for, is this a wiring harness issue or did the OBDII short something out somehow? I have never heard of this.

If it were a 2005 I would consider the FCM connections but I would still check all the grounds and check for chaffing in wires especially behind the fuel filter bracket. Since the ESP traction lights on prior I would check for bad speed sensor connection or sensors themselves especially if any tire/wheel /brake/alignment etc done prior to the problem.

As TKB4 said^^^ the 2006 LHD CRD has a known problem in that the Fuel Filter Mounting Bracket can compress the large wiring harness behind it. This cause wires in the harness to fray to ground or to other random wires. There have been lots of posts on this problem over the years.

Apparently the 2006 CRD has a larger ABS module mounted in that area so the bracket was moved higher!

So definitely remove this Fuel Filter Mounting Bracket and inspect the wiring in that area for damage.
I believe some form of cushioning should be wrapped around the harness in that area to help protect the harness there.

The Traction Control and ESP BAS could be affected by this above problem as the harness exits the interior in that area.

These two errors can also be caused by a bad Clock Spring at the top of the steering wheel through when this clock spring starts going bad it usually starts off as an intermittent error before becoming solid.....which appears to be what you had
