so since i have owned this I have never had the glow plug light come on, the throttle control light comes on and acts like a glow plug light , it has always started right up with no problems even when cold, any one had to replace light bulb before or am i missing something? |

Have you done the Cluster Test? Under normal usage the Glow Plug Lamp only lights up for a few seconds even though the ECM is still activating the glow plugs in a varying pulsed mode. Hold the Odometer Reset Button in while turning the ignition ON. All the lamps should light up and the gauges move around so you should see if the Glow Plug lamp does come on. This is not a diagnostic and will not come up with any error codes...merely a way to exercise all the lamps and gauges. This ends with some digits displayed but this is not an error code but a display of the firmware level of the cluster. These lamps are LEDS soldered onto the cluster circuit board..they can fail and Dealers/Owners have been known to remove problem lamps such as the CEL lamp! |

On mine the light goes out almost instantly, just the quickest little blip, but the glow plugs work just fine, so the light has no significant relation to the glow plug operation. |

I didn't see the glow plug light for over the first year I had mine, and had some horrific cold starts. Changed the battery and glow plugs, that winter it came on all the time and started beautifully. The next winter (this one we're just finishing) I only see the light on coooold cold mornings, but it still starts way better. I would say I hope everyone involved in programming our vehicle got fired, but since I'm done with Chrysler I hope that's exactly here they are. |

I haven't ever seen a glow plug light . I didn't even know there was one and one jeep I bought had 3 broken glow plugs with the three codes showing this . Its also my understanding that the glow plugs function for a certain amount of time even when the ambient temperature is not cold. I don't see a location for some posters, I know one isn't in US is there a difference in this regard between US and other markets ? Now I have one more thing to do today, check the manual and do the instrument cluster test !! |
