Found a RB1 at a junkyard, kinda overpaid since the noticed it said nav and I wasn't expecting to have a different price for nav, then bought a DVD for the nav disk from someone who can burn the most recent version with the in motion hack installed.

Its a cool little unit, but not necessary in todays world, if I had to do it again I wouldn't at the price I paid. But if I paid $25 for an OEM CD changer radio like I thought I would, and then $25 for the updated disk, I might.

I lost my 6 disc in dash changer which I have had awhile, but my ipod integration kit still works with the new radio, so I can aux cord play music still.

Can I get a copy of the nav disc off you? I've got the same radio, but no disc. Also - what's the GPS antenna look like - where's it located in the body so I can get one from a yard?

Lastly... Does yours retain the last setting? Every time I turn the Jeep on, the RB1 is in AM radio mode for some reason. I'm only / always on satellite, so dunno why it keeps doing that. Not sure if there is a power wire / memory wire issue somewhere.

My antenna had bracket with it and it attached behind the bezel for the gauge cluster to the right of the cluster, on the actual inner dash, there are a couple of holes in the dash I never really noticed before and a locating pin that the antenna makes use of.

I can make an image of it, but I won't gurantee it will work, I got an older image online and tried multiple times to burn it, even following what others said worked online, but basically couldn't get it to work.

I did find a guy online who was willing to sell me the latest rev with the inmotion hack for $25, there also appears to be a copy of the latest OEM rev on ebay for $14. But I can still make an image and we try that, I figured I would plan to anyway.

Out of curiosity, was there ever a factory option to add Bluetooth to an RB1?

I've run across the various third-party adapters, but would be interested to know if Chrysler ever offered anything that could work as a direct add-on.

Hey Sam, thanks - I'll PM you and we can go from there. I've got unlimited online storage so I'll set up a folder for you.

Casm - There isn't a factory option as I'm aware of it, but there ARE a few different adapters that people have been able to make work, seems to all use the external CD changer wiring and directly tap those for the headphone / speaker from a bluetooth receiver. The problem with that is that you still need a dummy CD if you have the external changer or you need to use the sat receiver wires... Which in my case I'm using.

I have a special usage case - I don't want to lose the factory satellite radio b/c it is lifetime active. Otherwise I wouldn't think twice about pulling the radio and installing something better with Apple Carplay. I haven't found out yet if something like the Maestro RR adapter will retain the factory satellite... Information is unclear.

Thanks, and the clarification is appreciated. This probably kills the RB1 for me - losing satellite would be a no-go.

To be clear, the RB1 still supports the sat radio.

I was able to burn a copy of the latest rev nav disk with the inmotion hack, tested and it works.

Uploading an image that can be burned to a verbatium DL DVD. I'll have DMG for osx users and ISO next. Might also try to throw it out there is a torrent.

Made the ISO and burned a test DVD that works in my radio. So both DMG and ISO work for burning a copy of the latest NAV disk. DMG is online and the ISO should be by the end of today.

Just an FYI I have a factory Bluetooth in mine in the mirror and I have the rb1 and the cd changer in the back and the iPod interface. So it DOES all work together. It helps being a mechanic and being able to install it yourself, I could add the Sirius also but I would have to pay for the service. Mine came with the 6 disc changer in dash with Sirius and factory iPod interface and I swapped in the rb1 and added the 6 disc in the rear and added the factory bluetooth mirror and module, you need to drop the headliner to swap the harness to add the Bluetooth but I like having everything look factory. For the gps antenna they are cheap and readily avalibul. I am contemplating having a friend of mine integrate the guts of a garmin into my rb1 and upgrade it to a touch screen but I haven't yet bought a nother unit to upgrade.

I haven't been able to find a factory bluetooth, "uconnect" yet at the junkyards, but I don't do a great job of checking. But that would be nice to have to work with this.

IMO the nav isn't really worth it for how much I had to pay and the trouble it was to get this going. But its installed, its neat, so be it.

I do think adding backup camera to it would be worthwhile, despite the ease of aftermarket solutions these days.

The factory bluetooth came in many Chrysler rigs but you need the ceiling harness from the kj otherwise you will need to make it up. A backup camera can be added but you need to mod the rb1 to accept external video input.

Any websites with info on how to add the backup camera? From what I can tell the screen accepts an RGB input but you need to make some modifications and switching for the second RGB source.

I'd also be interested to see if anyone has done any work in terms of figuring out the format of the map / PoI data. If those could be made current along with adding bluetooth, this could actually make the RB1 a viable option.

The lack of HD Radio kinda sucks (we have three local stations we listen to that are only on HD subchannels), but that's an I-can-live-with-that sort of thing.
