I have an undiagnosed Air Conditioning issue. It goes on and off intermittently. I've had it. To 2 shops. They thought the switch might be a possibility. Or a loose connection someplace.

Is there a way to diagnose the switch?

Does the switch run on milliamp?

Is there a part number for the switch?

It was a bad wire from the relay to the compressor. Glad I found a guy that knew how to read the schematic and test it

My 2002 Export 2.5 CRD does not have a push button switch for the AC...I have a rotary switch going from AC OFF to AC in recycle mode, demist vent etc.

You can download the 2006 Jeep KJ Service Manual here...section 8W has the wiring diagrams.

Do you mean your AC sometimes works and at other times does not work?
It is normal for the AC to cycle ON/OFF all the time in short bursts

There is a Low Refrigerant Switch which stops the AC from running...your refrigerant level may be marginal!

Swap over the AC Relay with an identical one nearby.

The 2006 CRD has a known problem with the Fuel Filter Head Mounting Bracket damaging the main wire harness behind it. This cause random shorts to chassis or shorts between random wires. Any weird electrical problem on a 2006 CRD merits removing this Fuel Head Mounting Bracket and examining the harness there for any damage.

There are also Parts Fiches for the KJ in the downloads section here:

We have chsnged both the high and low switches. I think I swapped the relay at least once.

It blows v÷y cold whenit is working. It seems to come on and off very randomly. Can the switch be jumpered with a fused wire? Or is it miliamps or something?

Are you talking about the AC pressure switch or the interior HVAC AC switch?

Could not find a part number for just the AC switch by it self. Maybe junkyard time? Gassers of the same year model used the same panel.

Mopar Part number for the complete panel according to some of the Mopar sites:
05 -- 55037533AE
06 -- 55037533AG

not sure how much it will help but in searching for that code P 1251 there was a mention of :
Vacum reservoir solenoid short to ground

Perhaps there is an intermittent short contributing to the AC problem
