LIbby went into a ditch: Damage right front fender and passenger door: https://i.ibb.co/gg3gPkC/IMG-20190521-133404408.jpg Does the fender look repairable ? What skill level needed to replace a fender if a buy a salvage one? I already bought a salvage door. Anyone have the procedure to replace the door. I'm thankful for all the gas libbies that were sold because the used parts are plentiful . Thanks |

The hardest part is switching the antenna into the new fender. Seriously. Bolts along the inner fender at the edge of the hood. Another bolt is hidden behind the plastic imitation rocker guard. You will want to get a package of new Jeep fender flare clips. I got an FCA plastic rivet gun and rivets because I wanted to fasten the plastic inner fender rock guard more securely than the original. I haven't pulled or re-mounted any doors on this rig, personally, so will leave that for those with experience in this. Honestly, your fender from what you showed, really doesn't look like it needs replacing, unless you source one in perfect shape and color match for cheap. A sand bag, (or sand pile) a strong firm blanket (U-haul shipping blanket) a light dinging hammer, and a lot of patience... Others may say go paintless, but I have no experience with that, and you already are looking at light bodywork, priming and painting on that one. |

Several answers for fender and door: 1. regular body shop - NO to both; replace with new 2. real body shop - yep; bit of dolly work/bit of bondo/bit of paint 3. me - same as real body shop but might skip dolly work depending on depth of dent. But then I've dragged several vehicles out of the grave. Skill level to repair/replace. If you can use screwdrivers; wrenches; sandpaper; hammer; dolly; paint you can do #3 with/without replacing anything. |

Thanks, Body shops were quoting 1800 with repair or replace solution which is a non-starter. repairing the door is out of my league. Don't trust myself to do the fender so i'm getting salvage parts off internet. |
