This thing has been pretty reliable. Am I the only lucky one with a stock liberty crd with this many miles?Image

I usually change oil every 5 or 6000 miles. Now I'm not sure how much it gets revved up at. I never drive this one. The one I drive Always had something go wrong with it and been chasing an oil leak and then turned into coolant leaking recently which I've traced back to the head gasket. Just installed arp studs but didn't know to replace valves when I took the head to my machine shop. I know to take the original head with new valves when that gets redone. Live and learn I guess.

Hopefully I didn't jinx myself. It's been really good. We changed the timing belt when needed, rocker arm and lifters and a crank position sensor is all the work that I recall that has been done with it. Nothing major.

Thats great to get to 234,000 with no major problems but We should be getting to 300,000 to 400,000 with no major issues and regular maintenance . Its not uncommon for many gas engines to get to 200k now .

The engine was used in London taxis, would be plenty of them with over 1,000,000 miles & still rattling along!
I had a Mercedes 300D that did over 2,000,000 Km & was still going. No major issues.

Nice We have a 300 sd. I think that's what it is. The body and interior is shot it is so rough it hasn't been on the road in probably 10 or more years. I know it's a s class. I'm pretty it's a 300 but I could be wrong. I'm thinking about dropping the motor and driveline into something else.

The S series diesel didnt make it to Australia, neither the turbo engine. Yours would have been a great car in its day. A few have put the engine in XJ jeeps. Biggest issue is the sump missing the diff. Have fun if you ever do it.

We will get around to it eventually. Next project is turning a 73 Dodge TV in a hauler. Need to move our vehicles around and my tractor.

My 05 crd has had zero problems. Changed oil maybe 4 times, but only has 25,000 miles. Use it mostly to pull the rzr trailer out to the desert which is about 2 miles away. On my second set of tires, second battery.

To Mopargarage:
I would actually call replacing rockers a major problem just because of how much time is involved in getting to them and their cost. Still pretty good.

By stock do you mean original intercooler hoses, no EGR delete or tune that deletes it or off road mod? Does it have torque converter shutter or did it get the F-37 dealer "FIX" ? Updated Fuel Head?

I would call no issues is replacing wear items like brakes and tires and filter and fluid changes just things listed in the owners manual maintenance schedule which would include the Timing Belt water pump replacement on schedule.

Ok technically the rockers are major repair but yeah original hoses have been replaced by new stock ones. We can probably break down the motor down to the head in 5 hours and put it all back and running back together in a day. Rockers aren't too bad. I'm debating on how to rebuild our 4th ones motor. Stock or with all the deletes and tune or stock?

It's had all it's scheduled maintenance that the manual requires.

There's no shudder. Had all the recall repairs done. I'm not sure about the updated fuel head.
